Our Eye Doctors

Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision – many of which do not have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses including eyeglasses and contacts.

Our optometrist takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.

Meet the Team

Dr. Candice Olund, OD

Dr. Candice Olund is dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized eye care for patients of all ages. Originally from Houston, Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity University in San Antonio before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry.

During optometry school, Dr. Olund served as Treasurer of the Volunteer Optometric Society (VOSH), where she participated in multiple mission trips to Mexico, providing free eye examinations and vision care to underserved communities. She completed clinical externships at John-Kenyon American Eye Institute and Indianapolis Eyecare Center before joining a private practice near Bloomington, Indiana. There, she gained extensive experience treating dry eye disease, glaucoma, and macular degeneration while developing a special interest in advanced contact lens care.

She specializes in dry eye treatment, myopia control, orthokeratology (Ortho-K), and hard-to-fit, complex, and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Olund enjoys fitting advanced contact lens designs, including rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses and scleral lenses, to help patients who may have struggled with traditional contact lens options. She is highly experienced in helping patients with complex vision needs find solutions through both advanced contact lenses and specialty eyewear.

Dr. Olund is passionate about helping children and families understand the importance of myopia control and the options available to slow the progression of nearsightedness. Whether helping a child experience clear vision for the first time, managing a challenging contact lens prescription, or finding the perfect eyewear solution, Dr. Olund enjoys creating personalized care plans for every patient.

Outside the office, Dr. Olund is deeply involved in the Southern Indiana community. She volunteers at local elementary schools by providing vision screenings for students and partners with area Lions Clubs to support community health fairs and vision initiatives. She is also active in her church and enjoys giving back whenever she can.

Dr. Olund and her husband live in New Albany with their four children. Much of her free time is spent cheering from the sidelines as her children compete in basketball, baseball, softball, and a variety of other sports. She considers it a privilege to care for generations of families and believes there is nothing more rewarding than helping a patient see the world more clearly.
